About Us

Pinoy Indie Authors (PIA) is a volunteer-run creative community where Filipino independently-published cross-genre books are created, shared and celebrated.

Established in 2023, PIA is guided by Mayumi Cruz (founder) and Marigold Andres Uy (co-founder), who hold final decision-making responsibility for the community.

PIA is composed of self-published Filipino writers who, on occasion, collaborate, write, and publish mixed genres like crime fiction, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, and poetry, showcasing local stories and voices, and focusing on diverse Filipino narratives.

PIA also extends a helping hand to independent writers who need learnings, skills, and services for their book/s.

About our Logo

Pinoy Indie Authors is symbolized by a gold-framed logo representing wisdom and experience, with a fountain pen nib forming an open book at the center. Yellow green tones reflect fresh ideas, growth, and creativity. Together, the logo represents independently-published, cross-genre Filipino writers who blend new perspectives with timeless insight.

Starting 2026, our logo is set against a backdrop of a plaid pattern. The plaid represents connection and community. Its intersecting lines symbolize diverse Filipino voices and genres coming together, woven into one strong, unified collective of indie writers.
